Four Arrested in Ikire Killings Linked to Political Thug
On Thursday, Osun State Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Zungura paraded four suspects in connection with the killings of two people in Ikire, Osun State. Among those paraded was Sikiru Adedeji, a ticket officer at the Naira and Kobo Motor park, who revealed that a political thug named Ayewo snatched an AK-47 rifle from police officers responding to a distress call and fired shots that resulted in the deaths of two passers-by.
The other suspects included Olalere Taiwo (21), Olalere Ademola (26), and Bankole Abiodun (20). The police reported that approximately 30 armed hoodlums attacked the officers, leading to the incident.
During preliminary interrogation, the suspects confessed to being political thugs linked to Ayewo, who remains at large. Zungura commended the police operatives for their effective investigation and assured the public that all involved would face legal consequences.
