Mrs. Disu Becomes 23rd POWA President with New Agenda

On Tuesday, Mrs. Oluwafunmilola Mutiat Disu formally assumed office as the 23rd indigenous president of the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA).

In her inaugural address, she expressed gratitude to God and emphasized her commitment to strengthening welfare, unity, and empowerment within the association. Disu acknowledged the solid foundation laid by her predecessor, Dr.

Elizabeth Egbetokun, and highlighted the critical role of police officers' wives in supporting their families and communities. She unveiled a five-point agenda that includes prioritizing mental and emotional health, creating safe spaces for healing, economic empowerment through skill acquisition and entrepreneurship training, educational support for children, and ensuring that every member feels valued and heard.

Disu's tenure slogan is "Unity, Strength, Empower, Impact," reflecting her vision for the association. She called for collective participation and shared responsibility among members to enhance the support system for police families.
