MTN Group Appoints Ikenna Ikeme as Regulatory Executive

MTN Group announced the appointment of Ikenna Ikeme as Executive for Group Regulatory Affairs, effective 7 September 2026. Ikeme, who is currently the General Manager of Regulatory Affairs at MTN Nigeria, will transition to this group-level position to manage the company's regulatory agenda across its markets.

He brings over 30 years of experience in telecommunications, banking, and insurance, with expertise in regulatory affairs, public policy, compliance, and stakeholder engagement. At MTN Nigeria, Ikeme has played a significant role in major regulatory initiatives, including spectrum transactions, national roaming arrangements, and 5G licensing.

He is a qualified Barrister at Law, holds an MBA from Enugu State University of Science and Technology, and completed the Advanced Management Programme at MIT Sloan School of Management. Alongside Ikeme’s appointment, Ashutosh Tiwary will become Operations Executive for Francophone Markets from 1 September 2026, enhancing MTN's operational and regulatory leadership in a competitive telecommunications environment across Africa.
