MTN Group Appoints New Leaders from Within for Growth

MTN Group has announced three senior leadership appointments from within its ranks as it implements its Ambition 2030 strategy. Mitwa Ng'ambi, the current CEO of MTN Côte d'Ivoire, will transition to the role of Group Chief People and Culture Officer, joining the Group Executive Committee no later than September 1, 2026.

He will succeed Paul Norman, who is set to retire after nearly three decades with the company. Abbad Reda, currently leading MTN Zambia, will take over as CEO of MTN Côte d'Ivoire, replacing Larry Annett, who recently served as Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Commercial Officer.

Ralph Mupita, the Group President and CEO, stated that these appointments are part of a succession plan and reflect the depth of internal talent within MTN. The Ambition 2030 strategy aims to extend digital and financial inclusion across Africa, following a similar internal promotion strategy used in the previous Ambition 2025 framework.
