MTN Extends Sponsorship Deal with MoC for MTN CHAMPS Program Until 2028 Olympics

MTN, Africa's largest mobile network operator, and Making of Champions (MoC) have extended their sponsorship deal for the MTN CHAMPS program until the 2028 Olympics. The agreement was confirmed by MTN's Chief Technical Officer, Yaya Ibrahim, and Chief Risk Compliance Officer, Obiag Ugboma.

The sponsorship will span three years, supporting athletes in various age categories - cadet, youth, junior, and senior - to prepare for the 2028 Olympics and other global competitions. MoC's founder and CEO, Bambo Akani, described the renewal as a historic move that will transform Nigeria's athletics landscape.

The program will feature events like the MTN Champ Athlet Classic and the MTN Champ Grand Final in cities like Calabar and Ibadan. Notable athletes like Victor Aganya, Emmanuel Akolo, and others have been inducted into MoC's academy, strengthening Nigeria's sprint and quarter-mile development pipeline.

The partnership aims to groom future Nigerian sports stars and enhance the country's competitiveness on the global stage.
