NSSF Applauds MTN and MOC for Grassroots Athletics Support

The Nigerian School Sports Federation (NSSF) expressed its appreciation for MTN Nigeria and Make Champions (MOC) during a press conference marking the kickoff of Season 4 of the MTN Championship. NSSF President Olabisi Joseph praised MTN Nigeria for its unwavering dedication to youth and school sports development, describing the MTN Championship as a transformative platform that inspires young athletes across Nigeria.

Joseph noted that MTN's consistent investment demonstrates corporate leadership that transcends profit motives, aiming to support young talent and build the next generation of world-class athletes in Nigeria. The NSSF also acknowledged MOC's vital role in talent identification and development, particularly for cadets aged 14 to 17.

The collaboration has already shown impact, with athletes recently representing Nigeria at the first African School Games in Algeria. Joseph reaffirmed that school sports remain a reliable pipeline for athlete development in Nigeria and called on coaches, teachers, and parents to intensify efforts to mobilize greater student participation in sports.
