MTN Nigeria Awards Golden Tickets to 10 Athletes

MTN Nigeria has awarded ten newly discovered athletes with a "Golden Ticket" to join the prestigious MOC Athletic Academy, marking a significant step in grassroots athletic development. This initiative aims to prepare these athletes for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

The athletes, including Odunola Aderemi, Chidinma Esemenu, and Destini Reuben, were selected as part of a talent discovery focus during the intense trial season 3, bringing the academy's total roster to 30 elite athletes. MTN announced a landmark three-year extension of its agreement with MOC, ensuring stability for seasons 4, 5, and 6.

Yaya Ibrahim, Chief Technical Officer of MTN Nigeria, emphasized the corporate responsibility behind this initiative, aligning with the national sports agenda. The tournament format for season 4 will begin in November, coinciding with the traditional inter-house sports window in secondary schools, featuring regional qualifiers from the south, north, and west zones, culminating in a grand final.
