MTN and Lagos Government Collaborate to Transform Obalende Under-Bridge into Modern Bus Park

MTN Nigeria collaborates with the Lagos State Government to revamp the Obalende under-bridge into a modern bus park. The project, announced by Mr.

Tokunbo Wahab of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, seeks to convert the previously degraded space into a secure community-oriented facility. The new bus park will feature organized transport terminals, recycling drop-off stations, a road camp, LAWMA sweepers, security agencies, 60 public toilet fixtures, kiosks, and essential amenities designed to serve commuters and residents of Obalende.

Safety, health, and aesthetics are prioritized, with solar-powered lights to improve visibility at night, reduce blind spots, enhance CCTV effectiveness, and curb criminal activities. Additionally, a biodigest system for sustainable wastewater management and a dedicated recycling station will be installed.

The project aligns with the state's climate-responsibility agenda, including plans to install solar panels for energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. The initiative reflects the government's commitment to reclaim public spaces, ensuring functionality, sustainability, and safety for Lagos residents.
