Yobe State Secures Aviation Pacts for 2026 Hajj Pilgrimage

Yobe State Ministry of Transport and Energy, led by Dr. Mustapha Geidam, has finalized key aviation agreements to facilitate the airlift of pilgrims and cargo from Damaturu Airport to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage.

The agreements include collaborations with major aviation agencies such as the Nigerian Meteorological Agency and Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, ensuring the airport meets international safety and operational standards. The state aims to establish Damaturu Airport as a fully functional international hub capable of handling passenger and cargo operations.

These developments align with the state's vision to transform Yobe into a strategic aviation and logistics hub in the North East region.
