Murtala Sule Garo Sworn in as Kano State Deputy Governor

Murtala Sule Garo was officially sworn in as the Deputy Governor of Kano State, with the ceremony taking place in the presence of the Chief Judge of the state. His appointment follows the resignation of former Deputy Governor Abdussalam Gwarzo on March 27, 2026, which left the position vacant.

Garo, who previously served on the Commission for Local Government Affairs in Kano State, has been nominated to fill this role. Following the inauguration, Governor Abba Yusuf expressed his congratulations and wished Garo success in his new position, emphasizing the importance of collaboration to advance the development and prosperity of Kano State.

Additionally, Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, also congratulated Garo on his new role.
