Musa Calls for Action Against Terrorism in Nigeria

On Wednesday, Christoph Musa, the Minister of Defence, held the inaugural monthly operational briefing in Abuja, aimed at intensifying Nigeria's military efforts against terrorism and banditry. During this high-level session, Musa urged the military leadership to innovate and coordinate strategies to effectively combat the country's security challenges.

He emphasized the need for the Chief of Defence Staff and service chiefs to develop fresh practices that can deliver measurable results in ongoing operations nationwide. Musa also addressed concerns regarding the presence of U.S. personnel in Nigeria, clarifying that they are strictly in the country for training and advisory purposes.

He reaffirmed that the Nigerian Armed Forces maintain full command over operations within the nation's territory. The briefing, the first of its kind under the current leadership, provided an opportunity to review military engagements and reinforce strategic directives aimed at restoring peace and stability across the federation.
