Defence Minister Orders Military Overhaul After Attacks

Defence Minister Gen Christoph Musa, during a strategic meeting with service chiefs in Abuja, ordered an operational overhaul in response to recent attacks on military bases in Nigeria's northwest and northeast regions. Musa assured that the Nigerian Armed Forces remain fully committed to restoring peace and security across the country.

He acknowledged the military's casualties but insisted that terrorist groups and bandits have suffered greater losses. Musa urged citizens to support security agencies by providing credible information and warned against misinformation circulating on social media that undermines troop morale.

Recent coordinated assaults by terrorists resulted in the deaths of soldiers, including an incident in Katsina State where two soldiers were killed. Additionally, on March 3, fighters linked to Boko Haram attacked resettled communities in Borno State, resulting in at least 14 soldiers' deaths.

The Senate also honored fallen soldiers and called for intensified military operations following these deadly attacks.
