Nigerian Rapper Jeriq Credits Music for Saving Him from Prison

Nigerian rapper Jeriq, born Jeremiah Chukwuebuka Ani, revealed in a candid YouTube interview how music saved him from potential prison time by distracting him from vices that led to multiple arrests by law enforcement agencies. He expressed gratitude for music, stating that without it, he might have ended up in prison.

Jeriq discussed his struggles breaking into the music scene in Lagos, where he initially faced difficulties collaborating with artists. However, in 2021, he was able to collaborate on an EP titled "East and West" with Dremo, gaining international recognition for rapping in his native Igbo language.
