Kano Muslims Protest for Palestine and Condemn Iran Attack

On a recent Friday, thousands of Muslims in Kano, Nigeria, primarily from the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, staged a pro-Palestinian protest. The demonstration condemned attacks on Iran and called for freedom for Palestinians under Israeli occupation.

The protest began immediately after the Friday prayers at the Central Mosque in the Kano metropolitan area. Participants waved Palestinian, Iranian, and Nigerian flags while chanting slogans such as "Free Palestine" and "Death to Israel, Death to America." The event featured two coffins draped with U.S. and Israeli flags, alongside images of Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu, symbolizing their perceived roles in the conflict.

The protest was led by Shaikh Sidi Munir Mainasara and is part of a long-standing observance of Qud's Day, which has been marked every last Friday of Ramadan for over forty years. This year's observance highlighted the ongoing aggression and genocide against the Palestinian people by Israel.
