Mustapha Kwankwaso Nominated as Kano Deputy Governor

Mustapha Kwankwaso has been nominated as the deputy governorship candidate for Kano State by Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, according to Habeeb Saleh Moham, spokesman for the Kwankwasiyya Movement. In an exclusive interview, Moham dismissed allegations of nepotism, asserting that the selection process adhered to party protocols.

He explained that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) initiated discussions with Kwankwaso to establish a political presence in Kano, seeking support from national leaders. Despite initial resistance from Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso regarding Mustapha's candidacy, Gwarzo ultimately chose him, emphasizing that the decision was based on grassroots consultations rather than familial ties.

The nomination has sparked mixed reactions across political circles and social media, with supporters viewing it as a step towards youth inclusion in governance. Moham clarified that the process involved engaging local stakeholders and emphasized that Gwarzo, as the governorship candidate, has the constitutional right to select his running mate.
