Mutfwang Launches Toll-Free Security Hotlines in Plateau

During an Easter service at St. Paul's Anglican Church in the Jo North Local Government Area, Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State unveiled a plan to introduce emergency toll-free hotlines. This initiative is designed to allow residents to report suspicious activities, thereby supporting rapid responses to security threats across the state. Mutfwang emphasized the importance of public cooperation in combating crime and reassured worshippers of the government's commitment to protecting lives and property amid recent security concerns, including a reference to a recent attack on Palm Sunday in Angwan Rukuba. He acknowledged the fear and trauma experienced by residents but affirmed that the government would not be deterred in its pursuit of peace. Mutfwang noted that the past week had been particularly challenging and declared that his administration would scale up security interventions across urban and rural communities to prevent further attacks.
