Ogun APC Candidate Mourns Veteran Actor Taiwo Hassan

Senator Solomon Adeola, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 elections, mourned the loss of veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, who died on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66. In a condolence message posted on Facebook, Adeola described Ogogo's death as a painful loss, noting that his family provided significant support to Ogogo and his family during his health struggles.

Adeola stated, “We stood closely with him and his family, supporting his treatment and doing everything humanly possible to ensure that he received the necessary medical care.” He expressed deep sorrow over Ogogo's passing, which followed a courageous battle with illness, and emphasized Ogogo's contributions to the Nigerian film industry. Adeola referred to Ogogo as a “dear brother” and a proud son of Ilaro and Ogun West, whose legacy will endure through his talent and work.

He extended condolences to Ogogo's family and the communities of Ilaro and Yewaland.
