Yayi Planned to Appoint Ogogo as Tourism Adviser

Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, expressed that the late veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, known as Ogogo, would have been appointed as his Special Adviser on Tourism and Culture if he wins the governorship election in 2027. Yayi made this statement during a condolence visit to Ogogo’s family in Ilaro, Ogun State, following the actor's death on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer.

Yayi referred to Ogogo as an elder brother and praised his contributions to acting, culture, and the preservation of Yoruba heritage. He emphasized that he had planned to include Ogogo in his cabinet due to his experience and knowledge of the state’s cultural heritage, stating, “Man proposes, God disposes.”.
