Osayi-Samuel's Besiktas Move Halted by Father's Loyalty

Bright Osayi-Samuel, a 28-year-old Nigerian international, disclosed that his potential transfer to Besiktas fell through because of his father's deep loyalty to Fenerbahce. In an interview with Libero TV, Osayi-Samuel explained that while Besiktas had shown interest, his father's strong support for Fenerbahce made the switch to their Istanbul rivals impossible.

He emphasized that his father, a hardcore Fenerbahce fan, would not allow him to join Besiktas. Osayi-Samuel recently signed a three-year contract with Birmingham City, which will keep him at the club until July 2025, following a four-year stint at Fenerbahce.

He clarified that any discussions regarding a new contract with Fenerbahce were misrepresented and that he had not made any demands. The situation was complicated by a change in representation, which led to misunderstandings and rumors about his future.
