Bella Shmurda Reveals Bicycle Theft to Fund Music Career

In an interview on Echo Room, Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda disclosed a challenging time in his life when he resorted to stealing to finance his music career. While living in Okoko, Lagos, he stole a bicycle from his neighbor's son at night and sold it in Alaba for ₦7,000.

This money was used to pay for his recording sessions as he was still in the early stages of his music career. Bella Shmurda later found the boy whose bicycle he had taken and made amends by purchasing him a new bicycle.

He expressed concern that his mother would be upset if she learned about his past actions, stating, “If my mom hears this, she’ll be angry.” This revelation highlights the lengths to which he went to pursue his passion for music.
