El-Rufai Affirms Son's APC Membership as Personal Choice

Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, clarified during a BBC Hausa service appearance that his son, Bello, is affiliated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) by personal preference. Despite being a prominent figure in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), El-Rufai stated that Bello, who is 30 years old, is mature enough to chart his own political path and make his own choices.

El-Rufai noted that Bello's decision to remain with the APC does not contradict his own criticisms of the party's actions. The remarks came shortly after allegations surfaced regarding an attempt to thwart the Department of State Services (DSS) from detaining Nnamdi Azikiwe at the airport upon his return from Egypt.

El-Rufai expressed that he is pleased with the work Bello is doing within the APC, emphasizing that as an adult, his son has the right to make his own political choices.
