Oliseh Disappointed by Michael Olise's Choice for France

Sunday Oliseh, a former captain of the Nigerian national football team, expressed his disappointment regarding Michael Olise's decision to represent France in international football rather than Nigeria. During a discussion on the Global Football Insight podcast, which coincided with Bayern Munich's UEFA Champions League quarter-final match against Real Madrid, Oliseh praised Olise's talent and composure on the field.

He acknowledged the frustration felt by many Nigerians upon seeing Olise play for France, emphasizing that he should wear the green and white jersey of Nigeria instead. Oliseh described Olise as a quiet individual with a strong potential to become one of football's elite players, capable of contending for the Ballon d'Or.

Michael Olise, born in England to a Nigerian father and a French-Algerian mother, made his senior international debut for France in 2023, despite being eligible to represent Nigeria, England, France, and Algeria.
