NEDC Announces N1.5 Trillion Infrastructure Projects
The North East Development Commission (NEDC) is currently managing N1.5 trillion worth of projects focused on enhancing infrastructure such as roads and bridges in the North-East states. Mohammed Alkali, the Managing Director of NEDC, made this announcement on Monday during the opening of a three-day International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) Executive Retreat for senior management staff in Abuja.
He highlighted that the adoption of ISO management standards is intended to incorporate international best practices into the commission's operations and development programs. NEDC has achieved certification in five ISO management system standards, which include quality management and environmental management.
Alkali noted that the retreat is linked to the North-East Master Plan, which outlines the commission's development priorities. Fatima Dalhatu, the Acting Head of Governance and Compliance Service Reforms, urged management to integrate ISO standards into daily operations to ensure effective implementation of the Master Plan.
