Residents Demand Action from FCT on Estate Document Delays

Residents of Prince and Princess Estate are appealing to the FCT Administration to compel Prince & Princess Properties Limited to provide essential documents for the issuance of Certificates of Occupancy (CofO). Since 2015, residents have applied for CofOs and engaged in multiple meetings with the FCT Administration, but the developers have not submitted the required documents.
This delay has cost the FCT Administration approximately N3.5 billion in potential revenue from processing fees. An executive member of the Prince & Princess Estate Residents Association stated that they have fulfilled all conditions and are prepared to pay the N3.5 million processing fee per building.
They are urging FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to either compel the developers to submit the documents to the Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS) or grant an executive waiver for the issuance of the CofO. A letter from the Lands Department dated October 25, 2025, outlined the necessary documents that the developers must provide, which they have failed to do, causing frustration among homeowners.
