NAF Intensifies Operations Against Terrorism in North-East

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has ramped up its air interdiction efforts in North-East Nigeria to hunt down terrorists and guarantee the safety of residents. This initiative is part of a renewed strategy to degrade the capabilities of Boko Haram and the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP).

Following a recent foiled attack on troops located in Benisheikh, Borno State, where four personnel lost their lives, the NAF has conducted successful operations, including a drone-assisted assault that killed 80 extremists. Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodam confirmed that the NAF's sustained aerial campaign aims to disrupt terrorist movements and destroy critical assets while providing close air support to ground troops.

The operations, which began on April 11, 2026, have focused on precise strikes against identified terrorist locations, consolidating gains made against insurgents and enhancing security for civilian communities in the region.
