NAF Trains Personnel on Helicopter Maintenance in Italy

The Nigerian Air Force conducted a training program for four personnel focused on the maintenance of AW109 Trekker helicopters at the Leonardo Helicopter Division facility in Sesto Calende, Italy, from January 12 to February 20, 2026. This program included both theoretical and practical sessions, emphasizing the identification of helicopter systems, subsystems, operational modes, and maintenance procedures necessary to maintain aircraft in airworthy condition.

The rigorous training featured a comprehensive curriculum designed to ensure participants could effectively interpret maintenance manuals and adhere to standardized maintenance practices. The initiative aligns with the command philosophy of Chief of Air Staff Sundai Kelvin Anek, who emphasized the importance of developing technical capacity to excel and advance the professionalism of personnel within the Nigerian Air Force.

Upon completion of the course, the four personnel received certificates recognizing their successful training.
