NAFDAC Seals 18 Niger Warehouses Over Expired Goods

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) sealed 18 warehouses in Niger State, specifically in Bida, on Saturday, due to the presence of expired consumables that posed health risks. The agency's state coordinator, Mr.

Jame Kigbu, confirmed that the warehouses were found to have reopened for business without NAFDAC's approval. The sealed items included beverages, dairy milk, bottled water, and pasta, with a total value of approximately N100 million.

NAFDAC plans to carry out similar operations in Minna the following day. Meanwhile, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) issued a warning against the deliberate destruction of public infrastructure, particularly fiber optic cables, which are vital for telecommunications and national security.

NSCDC's state command representative, Mr. Suberu Siyaka Aniviy, expressed concerns over the increasing incidents of damage to underground telecommunications infrastructure during civil engineering activities.
