Nakudu Resigns from APC, Joins ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections

Senator Muhammed Sabo Nakudu, a prominent politician from Jigawa State and the chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream in the 9th Assembly, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Nakudu, who has served two terms representing the Jigawa South West Senatorial District, submitted his resignation letter at the Sundimina Ward in Birnin Kudu Local Government Area on Friday last week.

The defection ceremony took place over the weekend in Duts, attended by a large crowd, including top ADC officials. This move is part of a larger trend of politicians abandoning the APC for the ADC in anticipation of the 2027 general elections.

Notable figures joining Nakudu include Aminu Ibrahim Ringim, a three-time governorship candidate, and Ubal Shitu, a prominent chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP). ADC leaders in Jigawa State welcomed Nakudu and pledged to work together for the party's growth, assuring him of equal opportunities within the party structure.
