NANS to Protest Over Abduction of 42 Borno Students

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has declared a three-day peaceful solidarity protest scheduled from June 5 to June 7, 2023, following the abduction of 42 students from the Government Day Secondary School in Mussa, Askira Uba Local Government Area, Borno State. The protests will occur simultaneously across northeastern states, including Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Adamawa, and Taraba.

According to a notice issued by Lukman Yusuf, Chief Staff of NANS Zone E, the demonstrations aim to draw national attention to the abduction and call for urgent action to secure the release of the students. The protests are also intended to express solidarity with the affected families and urge the government to strengthen efforts for the safe rescue of the victims.

NANS has called for the federal government to reinforce security in schools to prevent future attacks. Comrade Muazu Hina, the zonal coordinator, reaffirmed the association's commitment to advocating for the safe return of the abducted students and improving security for learners nationwide.
