NANS Honors LASU VC Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello for Excellence

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) recently honored Ibiyemi Olatunji Bello, the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), for her significant contributions to higher education. This recognition took place during NANS' 45th anniversary celebration at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, which attracted dignitaries from academia, public service, and civil society.

NANS President Olushola Oladoja praised Bello for her exemplary leadership and commitment to academic excellence, highlighting her focus on transforming and advancing research and human capital development in tertiary education. In her acceptance speech, Professor Bello expressed gratitude to the student body and emphasized her dedication to shaping the lives of the university's 70,000 students.

Notable attendees included Adeola Ajayi, Director General of the State Service, former Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu, and Vice Chancellors Isaac Zeb Obipi and Haruna Musa, among others.
