Sanni Sulaimon Elected New Chairman of NAN JCC Lagos

On Saturday, Sanni Sulaimon was elected as the new chairman of the Nigerian Association of Nigerian Students Joint Campus Council (NAN JCC) in Lagos State following a dramatic election that ended in a 5-5 tie. The election took place at the Federal College of Education in Akoka, with delegates from various tertiary institutions across Lagos State participating.

The process was noted for its orderly, transparent, and credible nature. To resolve the deadlock, Ridwan Ajayi and Odewumi Quadri invoked constitutional powers, allowing the chairman of the convention to cast a tiebreaking vote, which resulted in Sulaimon's election.

The statement emphasized that the election adhered strictly to constitutional provisions and democratic principles, ensuring a fair and legitimate outcome. Security was maintained during the exercise by the state service division and police officers deployed to the venue.

Ajayi expressed optimism for a new phase in the NAN JCC, highlighting expectations for increased student advocacy across Lagos State.
