NANS Suspends Protests, Backs Tax Reform Laws for Economic Strengthening

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has halted planned protests and endorsed recent tax reform laws following consultations with key stakeholders. The decision was made during the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.

NANS President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, highlighted that the tax reform legislation is intended to bolster Nigeria's economic institutions and revenue framework. The focus is on protecting low-income earners and ensuring equitable contributions from high-income individuals.

The reform seeks to centralize revenue generation, promote transparency, and distribute funds fairly among federal, state, and local governments.
