NANS Commends Tunji-Ojo for Youth Empowerment Reforms

The National Association of Nigerian Students, South-West Zone D, expressed strong support for Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, citing measurable reforms since he took office on August 21, 2023. The association, representing over 25 million students across six states, commended the minister for clearing a backlog of over 204,000 passport applications in approximately two and a half weeks, which significantly benefits students and Nigerians traveling abroad.

They also noted improvements in immigration processes, such as contactless passport renewal and the introduction of electronic gates at airports. Additionally, Tunji-Ojo's support for the "Students to CEO 2.0" Entrepreneurship Summit facilitated the provision of business equipment to 200 students from ten tertiary institutions, enhancing their entrepreneurial skills.

The association highlighted that interventions in the Nigerian Correctional Service have helped decongest facilities and restore dignity to many inmates. The statement emphasized that these reforms have moved the Ministry of Interior towards greater efficiency and responsiveness to public needs.
