Adamu Launches Food Security Agenda in Nasarawa State

On September 8, 2023, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nasarawa State, unveiled a comprehensive food security agenda as part of his grassroots campaign for the 2027 governorship election. The initiative, which took place in communities across Nasarawa North Senatorial District, including Akwanga, Wamba, and Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Areas, aimed to empower farmers by providing them with tractors, agricultural equipment, and other resources to boost food production and mechanized farming.

Adamu, who was recently named the SDP's governorship candidate, conducted the program alongside his wife, Hajiya Rukayya Abubakar Adamu. The initiative is designed to enhance productivity and reduce the burden of manual farming.

During this phase, seven beneficiaries who missed a previous empowerment event in Akwanga received three-wheel motorcycles, with Hajiya Rukayya personally contacting them for the presentation at the ERCC headquarters in Akwanga. Agriculture is a vital sector in Nasarawa State, engaging thousands in crop cultivation and livestock production.
