Labour Party Chair Calls for Unity Ahead of 2027 Elections

Alexand Ombugu, the chairman of the Labour Party in Nasarawa State, emphasized the need for unity among party members in a press briefing held on Saturday in Lafia, the state capital. He called for collective efforts from stakeholders to address internal disputes within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ombugu dismissed rumors of suspensions within the party, describing them as fabrications aimed at undermining the party's unity. He extended a hand of fellowship to all members, stressing the importance of collaboration to avoid negative impacts on the party's chances in the upcoming primaries.

Ombugu highlighted the necessity for peace and harmony within the Labour Party, urging members to support the party's objectives. He reminded members of the constitutional provisions regarding the electoral process and called for peaceful conduct in the upcoming local government congresses scheduled for December 2025.

Ombugu expressed optimism that the Labour Party would emerge stronger despite current challenges.
