Jatau Loses APC Primary Bid for Keffi Constituency

In the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries held in Nasarawa State, Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, was defeated in his bid to represent the Keffi/Karu/Kokona Federal Constituency for the 2027 elections. Jatau garnered 5,873 votes, while his opponent, Daniel Ogazi, received 13,083 votes.

Additionally, two other serving members of the House of Representatives, Moham Abdulmumini Ari and Jeremiah Umaru, also lost their return tickets. The primaries, which took place on May 16, 2026, were described as free, fair, and credible by Musa Shuaibu Guri, the chairman of the APC National Assembly Primaries Committee.

Other winners included Moham Al Bashir for the Nasarawa Toto Federal Constituency and Toni Bala Shammah for the Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency. The results for the Doma/Keana Federal Constituency were not announced due to ongoing appeals.
