APC Wins Nasarawa Senatorial By-Election with 45,362 Votes

The All Progressives Congress (APC) secured victory in the Nasarawa senatorial by-election held on June 20, 2026, with Danladi Envulu Anza receiving 45,362 votes. The election was necessitated by the vacancy created by the resignation of Senator Godiya Akwashiki due to prolonged illness.

Prof. Aminu Ali announced the final results at the Central Collation Centre in Akwanga, where the Labour Party's Labaran Maku garnered 12,931 votes, Emmanuel David Ombugadu of the PDP received 11,570 votes, Alaku Moham Steve from the ADC scored 1,496 votes, and John Paul of the NNPP obtained 102 votes.

Following the announcement, Labour Party agents, led by Ben Ango, staged a walkout in protest against the collation process, citing alleged malfunctions with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and ballot irregularities across polling units. The protest occurred shortly after the results were officially declared.
