Nasarawa Labour Party Leaders Reject Interim Committee Rumors

Leaders of the Labour Party in Nasarawa State have publicly dismissed rumors regarding the establishment of an interim management committee. During a meeting held in Lafia, party chairman Alexand Ombugu reaffirmed the party's unity and its goal to secure victories in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

He characterized the rumors as unfounded and a product of political fabrications. Ombugu called on party members to maintain calm and avoid negative energy that could lead to discord.

He emphasized that the Labour Party remains a formidable force in the country and encouraged members to support the party's efforts without being discouraged by internal crises. The party recently conducted a congress to elect new executive members, with Ombugu as chairman, Bulu Sakk as secretary, and Esther Arishi as treasurer, among others.

The congress was monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), ensuring compliance with electoral regulations. Ombugu urged relevant authorities to address any individuals attempting to create confusion within the party.
