Nasarawa Labour Party Launches E-Registration for 2027 Elections

The Labour Party (LP) in Nasarawa State has commenced an e-registration initiative targeting the enrollment of 50,000 members across 13 local government areas in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. This initiative aligns with the Independent National Electoral Commission's guidelines requiring political parties to update their membership records, including national identification numbers and photographs.

State chairman Alexand Ombugu announced the launch during a meeting with party executives, local government chairmen, ward chairmen, and political aspirants at the party's secretariat in Lafia. Ombugu emphasized the importance of this registration, noting that the party had previously failed to capture necessary data for the 2023 elections.

He expressed confidence that the current e-registration would significantly increase membership. Additionally, 2027 senatorial aspirants Ayiwulu Baba and Shehu Reuben pledged their support for the registration exercise, promising to mobilize residents to ensure the party's success in upcoming elections.
