Nasarawa North Forum Advocates Unity Ahead of Elections

On Tuesday, October 4, the Nasarawa North Political Consult Forum held a meeting in Akwanga Local Government Area, focusing on fostering unity and political cohesion among its members in anticipation of the upcoming 2026 senatorial bye-election and the 2027 general elections in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. The forum, which was co-signed by Chairman John M.

Danboyi and Secretary Prof. Salih Alizaga, expressed concerns over the persistent lack of unity within the zone, largely driven by mistrust among stakeholders.

This fragmentation has led to reduced political bargaining power at both state and national levels, increasing intra-community tensions and missing opportunities for collective progress. The forum resolved to allow Nasarawa Eggon LGA to complete the tenure of the late Senator Godiya Akwashiki following the declaration of a vacancy in the Senate.

Additionally, they reaffirmed their position that Nasarawa Eggon LGA should produce a governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.
