NASENI Boosts Local Manufacturing with Strategic Partnerships

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), led by Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Khalil Suleiman Halilu, is advancing local manufacturing through strategic partnerships with private sector firms. The agency's approach emphasizes that industrialization cannot solely rely on government efforts and requires significant investments, technology transfer, and skilled manpower.

NASENI is collaborating with various domestic and international firms to commercialize innovative technologies, particularly in the renewable energy and electronics sectors. Notable partnerships include a collaboration with Imos Technology to manufacture laptops and tablets tailored for Nigerian conditions and an initiative with Adeayworld Energy and Zhejiang Sinrai Electron Co to establish a 40-hectare solar industrial park in Nasarawa State.

This project aims to enhance local production of solar home systems and reduce reliance on imported solar components. Additionally, NASENI's partnership with Powerstov Energy focuses on scaling up clean cookstove production, targeting the establishment of 10 assembly factories across Nigeria, which is expected to create jobs and stimulate the local supply chain.
