NASENI and REA Sign MoU for Renewable Energy Growth

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance the deployment of renewable energy technologies in Nigeria. The signing took place at the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) headquarters in Abuja.

The MoU, described by REA's Managing Director Abba Aliyu as a strategic partnership, aims to build Nigeria's renewable energy ecosystem by promoting local manufacturing and reducing reliance on imported technologies. NASENI's Director of Information, Olusegun Ayeoynika, emphasized the agency's commitment to translating research into market-ready products, particularly in solar energy.

The agreement includes provisions for NASENI's subsidiary, NASENI Devfronti Green Energy FZE, to collaborate with REA on projects involving photovoltaic modules and energy storage systems. The BPP's Dr.
