NASU Advocates for Investment in Education and Workers' Rights

The Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) urged for greater investment in education and the development of workers during its second annual public lecture held in Oyo State. The event gathered members from various tertiary institutions across the South West and focused on the theme "Defend Workers, Change Nigeria." Comrade Badmu Tolulop Kolawole, chairman of NASU's Federal College of Education Special Oyo branch, emphasized the need for continuous professional development and the protection of workers' rights.

He called for harmonious relationships between union members and management, advocating for regular training programs to improve service delivery. Comrade Ibraheem Akekunl Akand, chairman of NASU Oyo State Council, highlighted that labor rights are earned through struggle and should not be viewed as gifts.

He stressed the importance of fair pay and dignified working conditions. Comrade Tunji Carroll, NASU's Deputy General Secretary, pointed out that Nigerian workers bear the burden of economic reforms without corresponding benefits, calling for respect for labor rights and fair treatment.
