Lagos Police Disburses N53.3m to Fallen Officers' Families

On Thursday, during the observance of National Police Week, the Lagos State Police Command disbursed a total of N53,387,209 to the families of fallen officers as part of the Inspector General of Police Family Welfare Scheme. The event aimed to honor the sacrifices made by police personnel who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty.

Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, commended stakeholders for their continued support in crime prevention and maintaining public safety. He stressed the importance of strong community partnerships in reporting incidents and addressing security concerns, including cult-related activities and electoral violence.

The financial support provided to the beneficiaries was described as a relief to help ease the burden of their loss. The command pledged to continue supporting the families of fallen officers, ensuring they are not forgotten.
