National Single Window Reduces SON Migration Issues by 60%

The National Single Window (NSW) has achieved a 60% reduction in migration issues associated with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) within a four-week period. Mr.

Peter Ekundayo, the Director of Operations at the NSW Secretariat, disclosed this achievement during a discussion with journalists in Lagos. Although the data migration process faced initial challenges, the NSW platform has entered a learning curve phase, allowing for significant improvements.

Ekundayo noted that the first week was particularly chaotic, with data reconciliation issues arising from agency partnerships. The team has implemented a temporary approach to address data migration concerns, ensuring that product certification and shipment processes are not delayed.

The NSW portal has seen an increase in applications, although the number of resources has not expanded correspondingly, placing pressure on the team. Ekundayo expressed optimism about resolving NAFDAC-related issues within the next two to four weeks, as the help desk has recorded a total of 9,800 issues since inception, with a decline in daily issues observed recently.
