Nigeria's National Single Window to Enhance Trade Efficiency

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through Tola Fakolad, the Director of the National Single Window Project, has clarified that the National Single Window (NSW) initiative will not interfere with the revenue collection functions of various agencies involved in import and export operations. The NSW is set to launch on March 27, 2026, and aims to facilitate trade by enabling electronic submission of relevant documents.

Fakolad emphasized that the platform is designed to streamline processes across government agencies without encroaching on their statutory revenue functions. The initiative is not intended as a tool for tax collection by the Nigeria Revenue Service but rather as a presidential project to modernize Nigeria's trade infrastructure.

O Adebakin, Deputy Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, highlighted that the NSW will enhance operational efficiency and improve Nigeria's standing in international trade, simplifying processes and strengthening transparency within the system.
