2026 Coal City Games Scheduled for November 27 - December 11

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has announced that the 2026 National Sports Festival, known as the Coal City Games, will be held from November 27 to December 11, 2026. This announcement was made by the Director General of NSC, Hon.

Bukola Olopade, during the first main organizing committee meeting in Abuja. The event will see states arriving on November 25 and 26, with the closing ceremony on December 11.

The final date was agreed upon after discussions with the Governor of Enugu State, Barrister Peter Mbah, who expressed significant enthusiasm and commitment to ensuring the successful hosting of the games. The Coal City Games are expected to set records for sponsorship, with Premium Trust Bank confirmed as the main sponsor, contributing significantly to the festival's funding.

The festival will feature a variety of sports, including athletics, para-athletics, basketball, judo, swimming, and more, with a total of 15 compulsory sports to be hosted.
