Nigerian Military Achieves Major Success Against Terrorism

From May 25 to May 28, 2026, the Nigerian military conducted extensive operations across the country, yielding significant gains against terrorism and kidnapping. Major General Michael Onoja, during a press briefing, reported the neutralization of several terrorists and the arrest of suspects linked to criminal activities.

In Borno State, troops neutralized terrorists during patrols, recovering weapons and ammunition, and arrested Alhaji Gambo, a suspected collaborator. Additionally, 31 kidnapped victims were rescued in Zamfara State, while 148 victims, including women and children, were freed from captivity in Niger State after three months.

The military also reported successful operations in Yobe, Taraba, and Edo States, leading to the destruction of terrorist camps and the recovery of firearms and illicit drugs. The Nigerian Air Force's airstrikes contributed to these operations, showcasing the military's commitment to restoring peace and security across the nation.
