Naval Chief Idi Abba Commits to Complete Navy Projects

Vice Admiral Idi Abba, the Chief of Naval Staff, has vowed to complete abandoned projects initiated by his predecessor as part of efforts to boost operational efficiency within the Nigerian Navy. This commitment was made during a paper presentation at the Naval War College in Calabar on Thursday, where he outlined the Navy's vision and mission aligned with the strategic plan for 2021-2030.

The strategic objectives include completing ongoing reforms, optimizing fleet readiness, and reinforcing the Navy's role as a principal guarantor of maritime security, which is essential for Nigeria's economic growth. Abba emphasized the importance of enhancing operational readiness, advancing fleet recapitalization, and strengthening human capital development.

He listed top priorities, including the completion of the permanent site for the Naval War College hotel and the establishment of a Nigerian Navy Leadership Academy and Cyber Command. Rear Admiral Moham Nuy, who commands the Naval War College, encouraged participants to remain open-minded to apply the knowledge gained during the course.
