Naval Chief Orders Intensified Maritime Security Operations

Vice Admiral Idi Abba, the Chief of Naval Staff of the Nigerian Navy, has ordered field commanders to intensify operations aimed at securing Nigeria's territorial integrity and curbing criminal activities within the country’s maritime domain. This directive was issued during a strategic meeting held at the naval headquarters in Abuja.

The meeting involved various naval units and aimed to improve operational efficiency in line with the Chief of Naval Staff's vision of building a modern and agile naval force capable of protecting Nigeria's maritime interests. Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, the Director of Naval Information, noted that this meeting followed an extensive operational tour where the naval chief interacted with personnel and consulted stakeholders.

Vice Admiral Abba commended the achievements of the Navy, particularly the ongoing Delta Sentinel maritime security operation, which has led to significant seizures of stolen crude oil and the destruction of illegal refining sites. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with security agencies and the need for discipline and merit within the naval ranks.
